Patu is a generic term used for a club or a pounder used by the Maori (Native New Zealander) people.  The word patu in the Maori language means to hit or pound.  This is a double edged weapon usually made of stone, wood, or bone and resembles a club.  It was designed to give a crushing rather than a cutting blow.

This Patu is made of mahogany wood. Because each item is hand carved and created, item may vary slightly from picture.
